Twenty-five year old Jarvis Britton has been expressing his hatred on twitter for President Obama since June 28th. Britton posted “Free speech? Really? Let’s test this! Let’s kill the president!” on his facebook page. However, this threat just wasn’t enough for Britton. He also tweeted ” I’m going to finish this, if they get me, they get me #ohwell. I think we could get the president with cyanide”. The next day Britton tweeted ” Barack Obama, I wish you were DEAD”. After seeing these threatening messages the Secret Service agent talked with Britton and informed him of the seriousness of the situation, but did not take any further action. A talk with the Secret Service agent clearly would not be a threat to this guy, because he continued to tweet threats about President Obama. Ignoring the comments from the Secret Service agent Britton did not hesitate to send another threatening tweet saying ” Let’s kill the President. F.E.A.R.”.
On August 28th, Britton wrote another angry tweet, mentioning Barack Obama’s twitter account, stating ” @Barack Obama Alabama will see my power in the next 36hours! Word to the secret service”. Gloating with the thoughts that no one could stop him he tweeted “Can the president stop it? He only has 36 hours”. With no surprise, Britton was arrested on September 21 and charged by criminal complaint for threatening the president.
The link below provides more details about the story and the video with much more details about this case and what Britton’s neighbors had to say about this situation.

Are you afraid of someone stealing your online passwords, hacking your social media networks or more importantly your online banking? Using the same password for your online bank and three of your social media profiles can be more dangerous than you think. By simply providing a date of birth or your mother’s name in your about me section people can easily try to figure out possible passwords. By using social media, we sometimes do not think about what information we tweet or put out on these social media sites that might lead these criminals to an easier hacking spree. Identity theft is very common among online uses of social media.

“You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream.” Unfortunately, there was only one person screaming at the ice cream store, with a gun in his hand! Last Wednesday, September 5th, a male about 5’5, with blonde or light brown hair around the age of 25 to 30, enetered Kay’s Ice Cream Shop on Chapman Highway demanding money, according to the officials. Officials also stated, the suspect pointed the gun at the employee’s head and when he could not get the store safe open, the suspect stole the employee’s wallet and fled. WBIR, stated that the suspect was wearing tan clothing and a white surgical mask to cover his face.
On the Knoxnews Twitter page, there have been comments and laughs about this robbery. This robbery has become a twitter joke. Now people, I understand it is still apart of the summer and we may still have ice cream cravings or some of us need extra money to pay our rent this semester. However, I can promise you that times are not that hard financially, for you to be robbing a local ice-cream shop and risking your career and life over a possible $20 in somebody’s wallet. This is why we all need a college education, understanding the risks and consequences of our actions, and some common sense on the side. If this man gets caught,(which I hope he does) he is going to need a lot more money than those couple of dollars in that wallet to bail him out. People need to get an education these days. For crying out loud, if you are going to be a criminal, please at least be an intelligent one. Lord have mercy, we need to be screaming for intelligence and common sense these days because there somehow is a shortage!

According to a Yahoo Finance article written by Kim Bhasin, McDonald’s will be opening a pair of its first ever vegetarian restaurants in India. Her article, states that these restaurants will be spread across the country of India in cities, one restaurant in Amritsar and one in the city of Katra. These restaurant chains will not be serving any meat and will be serving similar items that are currently already being sold in some Indian McDonald’s restaurants. On Twitter, many Americans are asking and stirring up controversy that McDonald’s is not providing the U.S with these vegetarian restaurants. However, these twitter followers fail to realize the difference between our countries and the need of vegetarian restaurants in India. In India, cows are very sacred and most of the country is vegetarian, so this opportunity is brilliant for their country.
The U.S does not have the same views or sacred beliefs for cows that India does. Therefore, opening McDonald’s first vegeteraian restaurant to Americans who love beef, chicken and other poultry not supported by many vegetarians, would be a disaster in the United States. Opening up the first vegetarian restaurant of the McDonald’s chain in India, to a country who will greatly appreciate this opening that perfectly reflects their beliefs is a fantastic opportunity in my opinion. I hope that the U.S. can try to be more sacred with animals and change some of these unhealthy eating habits so that we can have an opportunity to one day have vegetarian restaurants that we can one day appreciate.
